Sport

Our school recognises how important sport is in the lives of our students. We offer a range of sports activities and have formed strong links with local clubs; GAA, soccer, athletics and boxing.

Green school

OLW is very proud to be working towards our sixth green flag. We work hard to keep our grounds looking their best and are helped out hugely by our adult gardening club.

Music

We are very proud of the talent we have at OLW Bluebell and we encourage all students to try a musical instrument. We have keyboards and guitars available to the children and they benefit from weekly lessons with our music teacher Tanya.

Hip-hop

Every year the children do an eight-week block of hip-hop dancing, which culminates in a show for parents and the school community. The arrival of Sly, a professional dance teacher always causes great excitement!

After-school club

Children in Infant classes at OLW Bluebell can attend the after-school club. Here the children engage in play-based, art or sport activities from 1:30 – 2:30 everyday.

In-school programmes

We also have lots of other in-class programmes and activities at OLW. These include Roots of Empathy and Junior entrepreneurs . Children also have the opportunity to work with outside agencies such as DING and UCD’s Suite Science.
