Big changes in OLW!

You have all seen the big changes that have happened at the front of OLW Bluebell. We have had some big machinery taking away a lot of concrete and soil, more big machines adding in some tarmac. Lines have been painted, grass has been replanted and new fences have been added. The finishing touches are on the way and we can’t wait for our new cark and safer access to our school!

Message from the Principal

As Principal of Our Lady of the Wayside N.S., it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school’s website. We hope to give you a small insight into the wonderful opportunities that are afforded to the children who attend Our Lady of the Wayside N.S.

Our school is a vertical one (Junior Infants to 6th Class) providing education to over 120 children. Our staff is 19 strong – talented, enthusiastic and professional people who place the interests of our pupils at the centre of everything they do. In addition to our teachers, Special Needs Assistants, secretary and caretaker, we are supported by an amazing Parents’ Association and the wider Bluebell parish community. The school is governed by a dedicated group of volunteers in the form of our Board of Management. The Board, under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin, is headed by Fr. Leo Philomin.

We are all extremely proud of our pupils and are constantly amazed by their abilities and talents. We will endeavour to continue to nurture and develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the world around them. We look forward to what the future will bring for our community and are sure Our Lady of the Wayside N.S. will continue to be a caring, welcoming and supportive school for many years to come.
